This workshop is appropriate for K-12 health and physical education teachers at all grade levels. As a result of the professional development survey conducted earlier this year, CTAHPERD presents topics identified as important to members:

9:00 am -10:15 am Adapted Physical Education – Speaker: Barbara Brooks, New London Public Schools
Topics Include: instruction and assessment to address standards, how to modify instruction to teach lifetime skills, how to work effectively with paraprofessionals.
10:15 am – 10:30 am Break/Light Refreshments
10:30 am – 11:45 am Health & Physical Education – Speakers: Kate Egan & Marissa Wengell, Glastonbury Public Schools
Part 1: Learn how to challenge and motivate your students with these simple and fun dance activities for your PE program that can be implemented across grades and ability levels. Be prepared to participate!
Part 2: Are you confused about skills-based health education, but too embarrassed to admit it? If you are, you are not alone! Join us in a judgement-free discussion designed to leave you feeling confident in bringing ideas back to your school.
