CTAHPERD REGIONAL WORKSHOP

PROFESSIONAL VISITATION

Let us SEL you on Health Moves Minds™, a new service learning initiative from SHAPE America!

You are invited for a professional visit to Spencer School in Middletown to observe this program in action and see why this is exactly what your students need.  Observe 2 classes at two different levels to see the free SEL curriculum resources in action followed by a question and answer session that will delve into how you can use this opportunity to raise funds for your school.

When:  Friday March 20 12:30-3 (Precipitation date:  Friday March 27)

Where:  Spencer School (gym), 207 Westfield St., Middletown (There is a generous amount of parking at the school with overflow parking at the St. Pius church just down the street)

Why:  You, your students, and your whole school community will fall in love with this program!  There is an immediate need for and relevancy to the high quality free curriculum resources that you will have access to.  In addition, this program replaces CTAHPERD and SHAPE America’s partnership with the AHA for the now defunct Jump Rope for Heart program and actually provides your school with more flexibility and a better return on investment for service learning.

Who:  Health Moves Minds is designed for PE and/or Health teachers.  The curriculum resources are divided into K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 with a slightly different focus at each level.  While the observation lessons will be a kindergarten class and a grade 4 class, HPE teachers at every level who have an interest will come away with a good understanding of how to get started.

Presenter: Amanda Amtmanis, Spencer School, CTAHPERD 2014 Elementary PE TOY

Registration is FREE for CTAHPERD members! Register by March 14, 2020.
